May 19th the Alien: Covenant will hit theaters and begin to bridge the gap from “Prometheus” and the original where it all started “Alien”. Now we know that “Prometheus” was received with luke warm reactions from some fans because many felt it lacked the suspense and horror feeling that we have expected from the “Alien” films. The film was meant to give a deeper explanation and develop the story more than just what we have seen on screen. I mean you know you always wanted to kind of know where these things came from and how they got here! There is a lot of history with this franchise and with so much buzz and hype already for “Alien: Covenant” 20th Century Fox just released a prologue to the upcoming film to bridge the gap from “Prometheus” and this one due out this May 19th. Ridley Scott is back in the directors chair and apparently has a few more scripts ready to go in the Alien franchise. I am ready to see what he has in store for us now and beyond.
The Crossing, an official prologue short to Alien: Covenant, reveals what happened to crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the synthetic David after the events of Prometheus. Set aboard an abandoned Engineer vessel, Dr. Shaw repairs David as they continue their search for humanity’s creators.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
